Communication spans the globe. In the CAPI Association we believe everyone should be able to communicate with anyone, anywhere, at any time. And we are continuously developing tools to permit that kind of global communication. The Common ISDN Application Programming Interface - CAPI for short - opens up a new dimension in communication technologies. It provides a uniform, independent interface to ISDN hardware components.

CAPI is used directly or indirectly by almost all applications that access ISDN or similar networks. The CAPI Association is an international consortium of hardware and software manufacturers, telecommunications operators and user organizations. Based in Berlin, Germany, the CAPI Association is a registered non-profit organization under German law, dependably serving its members' interest in a worldwide standard.
